i-Tunes card to spend? SLP's Favorite Apps Linky

There is a lot of discussion these days about apps to use in speech therapy. Did you get an i-Tunes card for Christmas? Now is a great time to find a cool new app for your kids.

Are you wondering what to buy?

Check out the Linky party below for great ideas!

Here's one of my favorite apps for preschool speech therapy: Nighty Night! -The bedtime story app for children.

I use this sweet interactive story with my preschoolers to target language and articulation. They are absolutely captivated by it (ok, me too!). This simple app would also be perfect for younger children if you serve the 1-3 year old crowd.

Disclaimer:  Nighty Night is a paid app. (Currently 2.99 at the App store) I am not affiliated with this app developer in any way, nor do I receive compensation for my review. I just love this app, and use it with my littles!

Here's why I love it:

1. Seasonal: You can choose to turn on snow for a winter scene, or off for spring/summer.
2. Animal Vocabulary and Verbs: Touch the lights on the farmhouse to visit each animal. )  The app comes with a cow, sheep, chicken, pig, fish, duck and dog. The animals are adorable, and each has three fun actions when touched. (think verbs, SLP's!

The chicken lays an egg!
 3. Off/On: Children turn off the light to make the animals go to sleep.

4. Repetitive: I love, love, love! repetitive stories for little ones. Repeats "Good night dear_____." for each animal. Practice initial /g/!
